The incumbent will ensure that the Canada Collections Policy is up to date and periodically reviewed to capture any change in the regulatory framework, market trends, industry development or business strategy, and remains in line with the Bank's risk appetite.

The incumbent will also assist the Director in fulfilling the governance procedures related to policy approvals, audit monitoring and other activities such as the Global Self-Assessment and Operations Authority Limits review.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the Canada Collections Policy is up to date, by:
    • Understanding credit risks associated with collections across the various portfolios, products and collection stages.
    • Conducting an annual review of the Canada Collections Policy, at least once per year.
    • Preparing Credit Risk Proposals for policy changes, obtaining feedback from stakeholders, following up and communicating approvals.
    • Managing internal processes to obtain feedback and approval on credit risk proposals, update the repository information, etc.
    • Working with Collections Operations and business lines to ensure existing policies are reflective of operational, technological and business environments.
    • Leveraging feedback from other support functions such as Policy Adherence and Execution, to identify potential gaps and areas of opportunity to inform future action plans.
    • Diligently working with our various stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in the collection policies and strategy effectiveness.
    • Collaborating as SME in the operationalization of policies and customer assistance programs.
  • Provide feedback on Champion – Challenger strategies prepared by team members and other partners.
  • Provide support on the enactment process of Disaster Relief programs, including communication to stakeholders impacted and monitoring of enrollments.
  • Assist in documenting the unit's internal processes to ensure processes documentation are up to date.
  • Support the various Governance-related processes, by
    • Conducting the Annual Global Collections Policy Self-Assessment.
    • Reviewing and providing recommendations on the Authority Limits setting annually.
    • Reviewing and providing recommendations on the Global Collections Policy annually.
    • Reviewing and providing recommendations on the loss mitigation risk appetite limits annually.
  • Provide monitoring and oversight to initiatives/action plans to address recommendations by internal Audit or regulatory agencies.
  • Contribute to the broader Bank's strategies by delivering value-added services, expert advice, innovative solutions, in line with the business objectives

  • University undergraduate degree required. Degree in statistics, business, economics or finance preferred.
  • Experience in Retail Banking, credit risk management or Collections.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
