Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer is responsible for executing the annual giving direct mail and digital fundraising strategy and for managing relationships with donors capable of making gifts on an annual basis. A key member of the Development Team, the Annual Giving Officer will use a multi-channel approach to develop and deliver heartwarming stories, impactful campaigns, and meaningful stewardship to annual donors, connecting back to our mission and supporting the growth of the annual giving portfolio.
What you will be doing:
- Participate in planning and contribute to the implementation of annual giving programs with a focus on direct mail and digital fundraising, to raise awareness and amplify the positive work of the Foundation, with a goal of increasing annual revenues.
- Establish and maintain annual campaign and activity calendars to guide production of direct mail and digital fundraising.
- Prepare and execute annual fundraising campaigns from development to execution, including campaign briefs, timelines and production schedules, data segmentation, A/B testing, optimizations, and KPI results monitoring.
- Prepare and execute specialized campaigns (acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship) focused on key donor segments including first-time donors, monthly donors, memorial, and loyal donors.
- Work closely with direct mail service providers including agency partners, writers, print shops, mail house, and other vendors.
- Assist with collecting and analyzing direct mail and digital solicitation program results data to refine and increase ROI.
- Support copy-writing and content development for a variety of mediums to support annual giving programs, including impact stories, emails, web content, social, and more.
- Steward annual donors (>$1,000), first-time donors, monthly, and loyal donors through established stewardship activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Leadership Giving and in Communications to establish integrated fundraising and communications calendars to meet organizational objectives.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with donors, Foundation staff, stakeholders, and hospital employees to identify compelling patient and healthcare provider stories to support content development.
- Stay on top of industry trends, to improve and enhance annual giving programming.
- Utilize NXT (CRM) to effectively track donor engagement to ensure data integrity.
What we want to see from you:
- College diploma or bachelor's degree, equivalent experience acceptable.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in fundraising, marketing and/or communications.
- Passion for the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation's mission.
- Ability to work with stakeholders in, and outside of, the Foundation to advance programming and revenue generation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple projects at once in a cross-functional team.
- Demonstrated understanding of fundraising, digital and direct marketing trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of Raiser's Edge fundraising software is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to maintain and build new and long-term relationships with sponsors, volunteers, committee members, and community groups.

- Starting salary of $50,000 to $60,000 per annum for 37.5 hours per week.
