The TIG Welder Fabricator is responsible for accurately welding a variety of metal/steel products for fabrication based on assigned work orders. This individual utilizes various welding techniques, works safely to meet production targets, and avoids waste.
This individual is highly focused on accuracy, precision, and quality in fabrication. Capable of prioritizing their workload to achieve objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
- Review work orders and read and interpret drawings for clear understanding before commencing welding.
- Accurately welding a variety of metal/steel products in a safe manner using various welding techniques.
- Conduct quality checks during and upon completion of work to avoid errors. Sign off the work order for work completed before assigning the product to another stage of fabrication.
- Identify the root cause if there is a problem or error made and develop a system to learn for errors. Prepare a scrap error report and provide one copy to the supervisor.
- Ensure the workstation and work area is tidy, safe, and clean. This would include all work vehicles.
- Store tools and equipment in assigned locations within the shop when you have finished using them.
- Prepare, complete, and provide the shop supervisor a copy of the damage report for any damaged, lost tools and/or equipment to have these items removed from the shop floor.
- Prepare, complete, and provide the shop supervisor with a copy of the vehicle maintenance report after using the work vehicle.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures that are implemented within the shop.
- Work in a respectful, inclusive, and cooperative manner to allow for positive team spirit and to meet the company's goals and objectives.
- Comply with all regulations and policies when working off-site and professionally represent the company.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and work to improve the company.
- Welders will be working both indoor and outdoor, employees must come prepared to work in all weather conditions
- Employees will be fabricating and installing all types of fabricated parts both indoor and outdoor
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 year as a welder.
- Ideal candidate will have an FCAW ticket from CWB.
- Demonstrated focus on producing quality work on time and with precision.
- Highly proactive, organized, and able to work independently to achieve the assigned tasks.
- Responsive, respectful, and capable of following directions to work within a team dynamic.
- Strong English communication skills - written and verbal.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety.
- Ability to comply with Company's policies and procedures.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs unassisted.
Physical Requirements & Disadvantages:
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Exposure to various weather conditions.
- Exposure to natural and environmental elements such as noise, dust, dirt, water, sharp objects, small spaces, and odors.
- Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and stand for over 3 hours at a time.
