NB Power's Generation division is seeking Plant Operators at the Belledune Generating Station. The Operator is responsible for controlling the operation of the generating units and auxiliary equipment in order to maintain the efficient production and continuous flow of electricity to meet system operating requirements.
Key functions include:
• Conducting operational checks of all plant and auxiliary equipment
• Completing environmental compliance checks inside and outside the station
• Performing system lockout/tag out in support of maintenance
Our ideal teammates will have:
• Power Engineering Technology Diploma
• Third Class Power Engineer Licence
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or a Class 7 Level II Driver's Licence with an acceptable driving record
Our ideal teammates will be self-directed, industrious individuals with good problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills. Computer literacy and the ability to build and maintain good working relationships are also essential to this role.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
