Demands, duties, qualifications
Reporting to the Regional Manager of Child and Youth Community Health, Rehabilitation and Intervention Services, the primary purpose of this position is to perform administrative duties for the rehabilitation staff (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, and Speech-Language Pathology) at the Labrador Health Centre.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from High School, supplemented by a recognized 2 year secretarial science or 2 year office administration Diploma;
  • Two years related experience including; word processing, advanced levels in Microsoft Office applications, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, Power Point, Meditech and ability to become skilled at new software;
  • Office Management experience, good organizational/time management skills and ability to work independently;
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check;

Duties
: (Included but not limited to)

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of departmental offices;
  • Assembles information and documents and prepares agenda for meetings as directed;
  • Attends staff meetings, committee meetings, as requested and records and types minutes;
  • Responsible for scheduling & payroll entry of employees as required;
  • Compiles, formats and types annual reports and special studies, complex work sheets and statistical reports and tables upon request by utilizing appropriate computer software applications;
  • Makes travel and accommodation arrangements as required;
  • Maintain an inventory of office equipment and supplies;
  • Arranges focus group meetings, etc. on behalf of the Staff and/or Regional Manager as required;
  • Participates on teams and committees as requested by the Regional Manager;
  • Competes the necessary typing, faxing, filing and photocopying for the department;
  • Other related duties as required.
