Working within the Global Wealth Management Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team, you will focus on driving inclusion by supporting the goals, plans, and initiatives to drive GWM's business strategies and objectives. You have a proven track record as a highly collaborative, organized, and results-oriented professional who can deepen strategic partnerships and leverage broader Bank stakeholders, systems, and knowledge. You are passionate about cultural transformation and driving organizational change. You ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for supporting the Director, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Global Wealth Management with key initiatives supporting the broader GWM DEI strategy, with a primary role in supporting new and existing GWM DEI programs and initiatives in collaboration with the GWI DEI team and respective program leaders, as part of the Bank-wide Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

In this role, you will:

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of existing GWM DEI programs and initiatives (GWM College Sponsorship Program, BNI Program, and other programs in partnership with GWM Talent Acquisition)

• Manage GWM DEI Program Team and GWM Business Lead meeting schedule, organization, and facilitation; support GWM Inclusion Council activities and meetings as necessary

• Provide project management and support for all in-person and virtual event logistics for panel discussions, networking sessions, educational sessions, and other events supporting DEI across GWM

• Support the design and delivery of GWM specific priorities with defined roadmap to help further our DEI agenda, working in partnership with Employee Resource Groups, Enterprise DEI Team, Business Leads, HR, Marketing, and Communications.

• Support rollout and day-to-day management of new GWM DEI programs in partnership will all relevant stakeholders and make recommendations to enhance program effectiveness in consultation with DEI Program Team as necessary

• Support alignment between GWM Inclusion Council Council and GWM Business Leads, including consistent governance framework and processes.

• Partner with GWM Inclusion Council members and GWM Leadership Team, as appropriate, to support the cascade of key messaging by joining leadership meetings, and/or facilitating working sessions, as required.

• Track metrics for DEI Programs to measure and promote impact of specific strategies and ensure milestones are met for all DEI commitments; report progress to help determine priority focus

• Maintain effective relationships with HR, DEI Enterprise team, Employee Resource Group leaders, Sub-Committee Leads, Communications team and partners to provide input on the tools, resources, and programs available to advance DEI across the Bank

• Build and maintain solid, professional working relationships with peers within the GWM DEI broader team. Leverage these relationships to identify issues, make recommendations and initiation resolution.

• Escalate risks and issues as appropriate to the Director, DEI GWM.

• Support other duties as assigned to contribute to GWM's broader DEI activity, recommending opportunities for priority areas for the advancement of GWM's DEI strategy.

• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.


Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if have:

• Experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Human Resources
• Knowledge and passion in diversity and inclusion and interest in how to drive the cultural and behavioral changes needed to enable an inclusive environment in a high-performance work culture.
• Proven effective written communication skills.
• Strong implementation/project management & organizational skills.
• High level competency with MS programs (word, excel, ppt.)
• Ability to work in partnership with various internal and external teams towards common goals
• Intellectual curiosity around 'best-in-class' practices (inside and outside the Bank).
• Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset
