Salary
Total annual salary is $102,414 to $111,228 with the market adjustment included.

The following financial incentives may be available and may be combined:

Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Perfusionist is responsible for the safe and efficient preparation for and operation of Cardiopulmonary Bypass machinery, cell salvage devices, extra corporeal life support, ventricular assist devices, and other related equipment in the operating room setting and as needed, in various critical care areas. The perfusionist has a direct role in the safety and well-being of the patient. Work is performed as part of the operating-room team and/or in an independent manner.

Job Demands
By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):
Regularly requires physical exertion and handling, moving, pushing or pulling objects between 10 - 15 lbs and occasionally required to support, lift or move patients/objects up to 30 lbs.
Regularly required to work in awkward cramped positions (bending/kneeling/stretching) and constantly standing and moving about.
Regularly pushes and pulls objects using light to medium forces and stands and walks.
Regularly requires visual concentration to give medications, read orders/referrals, patients' charts/document, observe and treat patients combined with time pressures and deadlines.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent is required.
Graduation from a recognized/accredited program for cardiovascular perfusion is required.
Current and continuing certification as a member of the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusionists is required.
Previous work experience as a Cardiac Perfusionist is an asset.
Specialized knowledge of extracorporeal physiology and mechanics.
Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
