JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Regional Director of Research and the Research and Health Evaluation Manager, the research consultant specialized in statistics will play a management and coordination role at the senior level for the implementation of all organizational research activities at Vitalité Health Network. The consultant will support management, doctors and health care professionals in initiatives and projects that can help them in their decision-making. Specifically, the research consultant specialized in statistics coordinates and develops research activities in conjunction with interdisciplinary teams and provides expertise and support in the quantitative analysis of statistical data. The consultant makes a rigorous scientific contribution to the Network's research projects and ensures their management. The consultant develops innovative research initiatives and provides scientific oversight of initiatives related to Clinical Learning Programs.

The consultant will also support the research activities of the Maritime SPOR Support Unit (Patient-Oriented Research Strategy).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate degree in a field related to the position: science, health, management, or another related field;
  • 5-10 years' experience in the health research field within a university setting, research institution or hospital setting;
  • Research-related experience: literature review, data collection, scientific writing and publishing, preparation of grant applications, knowledge transfer;
  • Experience in statistical analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative);
  • Experience in project development;
  • Experience in project management
  • Maîtrise de la Suite Microsoft Office;
  • Expertise with different analytical methods;
  • Data processing and analysis;
  • Database management;
  • Have a very good knowledge of at least on of the following software : SPSS, SAS, R, STATA;
  • Expertise in scientific writing and review;
  • In-depth understanding of the scientific method and research;
  • Good understanding of organizational research and the major challenges related to health systems;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Critical-thinking skills;
  • Scientific rigour;
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
  • Tact and discretion;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
