Promise Partnership, Integrated Health Initiative
Promise Partnership is a long-standing community engagement program based at UNB Saint John. With an aim to bridging educational gaps among individuals with low socio-economic status, the Promise Partnership provides UNB students with experiential learning opportunities by paring them with children aged 6-18 in local schools, resource centres and the university, to help children reach goals around literacy, numeracy, and digital competency. Our programs provide academic support to hundreds of local youths, contributing hundreds of volunteer opportunities annually.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | (2 Year) Term | Saint John | On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $48,688 - $60,860 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Managing Director, Promise Partnership, the Education Coordinator, Promise Partnership is a community-minded leader able to coordinate, streamline, and enhance the local elementary, middle school, and high school offerings. The Education Coordinator will also support the Managing Director in expanding the program elsewhere in New Brunswick.

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day operations of the elementary, middle, and high school offerings.
  • Collaborate with school staff including Principal, administrative assistants and teachers of elementary school (especially K-2) to facilitate program.
  • Help recruit, interview, train, and support 100+ UNB students as Promise Partnership tutors and mentors.
  • Supervise between 1-3 staff including student coordinators and post-secondary mentors/tutors.
  • Collaborate closely with the Office of Experiential Education and the Curriculum Developer, Promise Partnership.
  • Coordinate logistical tasks related to budgets, student transportation, food arrangements, billing, etc.
  • Establish and foster strong relationships with community schools, teachers, and other external partners.
  • Identify and collaborate with other community-based programs offering complementary support in community schools.
  • Research and help design new program offerings, in collaboration with program staff, local schools and community partners.
  • Research and help design training offerings for UNB students.
  • Support the Managing Director with program evaluation.
  • Support the Managing Director and other staff with the growth of the program, especially in digital literacy and with expansion elsewhere in the province.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Promise Partnership department.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • College diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of direct experience managing youth-related programs and/or community-outreach programs.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
