Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Approvals Coordinator - Engineering Approvals. This is a regular opportunity in the Engineering Approvals Section of the Engineering and Infrastructure Department and has full time hours.

What the Engineering Approvals Team does:

  • Reviews applications pertaining to the connection to, or extension of, the Halifax Water Systems.

As an Approvals Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate, assign and schedule application reviews of the Engineering Approvals Technologists pertaining to connecting to and extensions of the Halifax Water Systems.
  • Issue permit approvals for the installation, renewal or repair of service connections.
  • Administer and ensure compliance Halifax Water's Schedule of Rates, Rules and Regulations for Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Services, Design Specifications, relevant legislation, by-laws, other relevant documents pertaining to Halifax Water's obligations.
  • Liaise with contractors, developers, engineering consultants, government agencies and Customers pertaining the connection to, or extension of, the Halifax Water Systems.

To do this job, you need:

  • A post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • A Certified Engineering Technologist designation.
  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience in a municipal engineering.
  • Ideally have supervisory experience.
  • A valid NS driver's license.

The salary range for this position is $71.522 to $89,403 annually.
