Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of the Canadian Wealth Management (CWM) Partnerships team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. The incumbent works closely with the Partnerships leadership team to ensure the virtual enablement strategy is executed in alignment with the segment strategies and virtual capabilities across CWM and Canadian Banking.

This role serves as the key contact for online leads from internal and external partners and client prospects to CWM, focused on the High Net Worth and Ultra-High Net Worth client segments, including emerging wealth prospects in select key target segments. The incumbent promotes the delivery of Total Wealth and understands the breadth of CWM offerings in Investment Management, Private Banking, Will, Estate & Trust Planning, Philanthropic Services, Financial Planning, Insurance and MD Financial, among other available Wealth solutions. The Virtual WMC ensures that the client is transitioned to the WMC/CWC in market or to the Advisory business and relationship manager(s) who are best suited for the client's needs. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champions a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Builds and maintains an extensive network of relationships across CWM and the Scotiabank, including virtual capabilities and networks in Canadian Banking, Canadian Wealth and International Wealth. Works closely with virtual teams and stakeholder groups across the bank to drive 2 way referrals through email campaigns, internal and external partnerships. This includes providing education and coaching on the Total Wealth Evolved proposition, SWM offerings and understanding bank offerings to key target segments.
  • Understands clients' needs and ensures an exceptional client experience through fast and effective teaming to facilitate a seamless transition from the initial online inquiry to the appropriate WMC or advisory bank partner. This may also include re-directing a wide range of inquiries relating to sales, service, complaints or questions to the appropriate area within the Scotiabank Group.
  • Connecting with prospects from Tangerine, the Estate Centre of Expertise and those inquiring about Estate and Trust, International Wealth solutions or other scenarios that require a better understanding of the service they require and completing a warm hand-off to the relationship managers and/or the WMC in market.
  • Requires an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the CWM advisory businesses and their offerings (Private Investment Counsel, ScotiaMcLeod, Private Banking, Scotiatrust, MD Financial, Jarislowsky Fraser and the Mobile Advice Team and Client Solutions), as well as the wealth management industry trends, our competitors and their products/services and market/customer segmentation.
  • Timely response to partners on client progress, referrals reporting and adherence to CWM referral processes (e.g. use of Salesforce to track pipeline and closed business, actively manages incoming and outgoing referrals, provide timely status updates to partners).
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Asset for being fluent in Mandarin & Cantonese
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC), and / or other industry-related accreditations are highly desirable Specific bank and/or industry experience
  • Superior relationship building skills
  • Sales-driven mindset and ability to coach peers, pursue and refer new business opportunities
  • Strong presentation skills (including use of technology), ability to think and respond quickly, and able to adapt to changes within a rapidly growing and complex area of personal financial services
  • An in-depth understanding of affluent client's financial service needs from wealth accumulation through preservation
  • A good knowledge and understanding of multi-need financial planning
  • Knowledge of Personal Trust services such as Wills, Estate Planning, Executor and Trustee Services, Trusts and Agency Services including Off-Shore Trusts
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of investment and credit products and service
  • A proven track record in providing client-centric wealth solutions to an affluent client base, both internal and external

Working Conditions

  • Provides coverage to support prospects and clients across Canada (may entail working beyond standard office hours)
  • Incumbents may be required to travel to attend conferences, work offsite meetings and client or partner events.
  • Evening seminars are held as well as individual meetings with clients and Bank partners which can require a longer than usual work day
  • Both predictable and unpredictable deadlines are often imposed to meet the demands of clients, Scotiabank partners, Wealth Management Offices with occasional evening and weekend work
