Position Description
The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Gerald Schwartz School of Business invites applications for a probationary, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Finance. The start date is to begin on July 1, 2025.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD (or an ABD with evidence of significant progress toward completion of the degree) in Finance. The candidate must show a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. The primary teaching responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to contribute to curriculum development and deliver in-person undergraduate courses in areas such as, but not limited to, Introductory Finance, Financial Management, Portfolio Management and Banking. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a high-quality program of research and engage in service activities within the Gerald Schwartz School of Business and St. Francis Xavier University.

The Gerald Schwartz School of Business houses three departments and offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with several degree streams, a thesis-based honours program, a co-op option, and multiple international exchange opportunities. The Gerald Schwartz School is a signatory to PRME and the finance program is recognized under the CFA University Affiliate Program. St. Francis Xavier University is one of Canada's leading primarily undergraduate universities, nestled in the small Nova Scotia town of Antigonish within the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People.
