In this role, you will :
Responsibility 1: Event Lead for Large and Complex Scale Operations
- When assigned and as a member of the Operations Team act as an Even lead for large and complex operations internationally.
- Develop event strategy utilising available tools and templates. The event strategy is co owned at the Director level (Head of Region & Director Response) and event leads are then empowered to execute the event in line with the strategy.
- Execute, oversee and implement the event strategy utilizing CRC international service lines through Movement channels. Facilitate the mobilization of appropriate resources to meet the priority needs of the people and communities affected by crisis.
- Responsible for tracking and following up on various contributions to response operations and providing consolidated reports on progress for senior management and external donors as required.
- Develop and manage the budget for the event including managing diverse funding sources with unique parameters and reporting requirements.
Responsibility 2 : Oversee Service Line
- Oversee the strategic direction for the assigned service (response tool). Ensure the service line is being adapted to the needs at field level and contributing to movement dialogues to shape the evolution of the service.
- Based on mobilisation of the service, identify, and execute the needed strategies to adapt the service to ensure it continually remains fit for purpose.
- Engage and develop relationships with movement relations/partners working on service line priorities and portfolios.
- Oversee proposal development, donor negotiations and project amendments of projects included under the service line.
What we are looking for :
- Master's degree in a related field (e.g., business administration, humanitarian studies, disaster management) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five years of job-related experience, including three years of experience in a managerial role.
- Field experience with the Red Cross Movement is considered an asset.
- Extensive experience and engagement with RC stakeholders including IFRC, ICRC and other Movement Partners is strongly recommended.
- Experience in disaster response, preparedness, recovery and emergency coordination including for medium, complex and large-scale emergencies.
- Proven experience in project/program management.
- Demonstrated experience developing institutional relationships/partnerships and managing relationships with multiple internal/external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success leading and managing diverse and multidisciplinary teams, preferably within a matrix environment.
- Leadership qualities and ability to work collectively with a team and independently.
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills is required.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills, leadership qualities, and ability to manage a team.
- Strong people management skills and ability to motivate, mentor, and support others.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, reprioritize tasks and activities, manage change, and meet tight deadlines in an evolving and often ambiguous environment.
- Strong and creative problem-solving abilities.
Working Conditions :
- Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice.
- This position may require domestic or overseas travel to attend conferences, workshops and meetings as required.
