The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Manager, IT Budget & Vendor Management to join our Information & Operational Technology team in Toronto.

This is a permanent hybrid position.

As a Manager, IT Budget & Vendor Management, you will be responsible for managing the Information & operational Technology budget and building strong relationships with IT/OT vendors. Oversee and manage financial accounting, billing, reporting, and control activities across technology finances. Your experience and skills will allow you provide commercial, contractual, and financial management expertise to ensure the IT/OT function has clear visibility and management of the functions budget, optimizes value for money from contracts with suppliers / third parties, and ensures the TCO (total cost of ownership) is aligned with Industry Benchmarks and with the business needs.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Collaborate with finance for regular analysis of IT/OT budget, including reporting financial performance and analyzing variances (budgeted costs vs actual costs) to identify cost saving opportunities and support budget decision-making for the IT/OT function
  • Consolidate and own the on-going management of the TCO (total cost of ownership) for the IT/OT function globally.
  • In collaboration with Procurement, develop and manage vendor management strategy, including managing the supplier / partner selection process, setting selection criteria, pricing and contract negotiations, and establishing the supplier / partner relationship governance
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships, such as vendor stability, performance issues, and contractual disputes, to minimize potential disruptions to IT/OT function business operations
  • Continuously assess and refine IT budgeting and vendor management processes, implementing best practices and tools to enhance efficiency.

About You

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in Finance and/or Procurement
  • Experience in IT procurement and contract management is a plus.

Skills:

  • Understanding of IT sourcing trends and their potential implications to the business
  • Knowledge of strategic partnerships lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of financial management tools e.g. SAP, Oracle Financials
  • Contract interpretation and negotiation skills.
