Our Pharmacy Technician Program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the pharmacy field. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Program Coordinator to lead this program and oversee the accreditation process.
Responsibilities
Faculty Leadership:
- Oversee the performance and development of faculty leads at our St. John's and Grand Falls-Windsor campuses, ensuring the consistent and effective delivery of the program across both locations.
- Provide guidance and support to faculty leads, ensuring they meet program goals and educational standards.
- Regularly provide feedback to faculty and support their professional development to ensure teaching excellence.
Program Development and Management:
- Oversee the curriculum development and ensure it aligns with industry standards and prepares students for pharmacy technician certification.
- Provide leadership and direction for faculty involved in delivering the program, ensuring program consistency and quality across campuses.
- Ensure the program remains current with developments in the pharmacy profession and technological advancements.
Accreditation Leadership:
- Lead the college's efforts in obtaining and maintaining accreditation for the Pharmacy Technician Program, working closely with our Accreditation Committee.
- Ensure compliance with accrediting bodies, such as the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP), by preparing and submitting the necessary documentation and reports.
Qualifications
- Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmacy practice, with a preference for candidates who have experience in pharmacy education or training.
- Familiarity with the accreditation process, including experience working with accrediting bodies such as CCAPP.
- Experience in faculty leadership, especially managing faculty at multiple campuses, is an asset, but not required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities within the contracted hours.
