The Sr Manager, IB Business Insights is responsible for supporting analytics projects and initiatives with a focus in International Banking (IB): PAC and CCAU – Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Caribbean, Central America and Uruguay. The incumbent will drive key business strategies by leveraging data and analytics, aligning to strategic business objectives to support a better understanding of our customers. This function provides value added analysis to the local Analytics functions at all International Banking countries. The role involves a high degree of collaboration and coordination with various areas in Canada and IB such as: Products, Segments, Analytics, Finance, Credit Risk, Operations and Systems.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to maximize analytics' impact and ensure implementation of strategic priorities, providing key business and customer insights
  • Support the IB Analytics team with project execution assurance: ensure projects are implemented (deliverables and timelines are met by all work streams), confirm committed benefits/synergies are realized/captured, and help mitigate analytics project risks
  • Collaborate with Toronto-based and in country teams supporting IB Analytics strategy and provide advisory support. This could take 2 approaches:
  • Low-touch support; where the incumbent will be providing advisory services, e.g. participating in meetings for key analytics initiatives, engaging in specific work streams of the projects
  • High-touch support; where the incumbent will be on-the-ground supporting analytics delivery in specific businesses within International Banking
  • Perform data-driven analyses to diagnose issues or roadblocks to analytics projects, synthesize findings, and present clear recommendations to mitigate risks
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships / partnerships with key stakeholders including senior leaders and analytics functional teams across the organization


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • Master in Analytics, MBA or equivalent experience required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong ability to discern research information/data to focus on critical business and country-specific issues
  • Experience conducting financial and customer analyses: P&L analysis, customer-level descriptive analytics and similar
  • Proficiency applying analytics to solve business problem: segmentation, optimization models, etc.
  • Experience in the financial services industry and/or consulting:
  • Experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Product Management, Finance and/or Risk functions within Commercial Banking.
  • Working knowledge of Commercial Banking products: Lending, Deposits and complementary products and services offered by other financial institutions and niche competitors
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank including partners within Canada and abroad
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Expert knowledge with Excel and PowerPoint, ability to prepare and present to di?erent audiences
  • Agile experience, Power BI, R / Python coding skills an asset
  • Fluency in Spanish an asset
