POSITION SCOPE:

This position is to support the Building Manager and Administrator in the operation and maintenance of Tideview Terrace's building and grounds including performing a variety of routine building/equipment inspections and maintenance functions. All responsibilities are to be approached in a spirit of teamwork, within and among departments, to ensure cooperation and completion in an efficient manner. Incumbents of the position are to work within the scope of practice and under the direction of the Mission Statement, Eden Principles, Standards, Policies and Procedures of Tideview Terrace.

Required:

• It would be a real asset to have a Red Seal Trade Or Journeyperson Carpenter, Electrician, Oil Burner Mechanic or Electrical/Mechanical related trade
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the building
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize maintenance tasks, organize available time efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates and understands safe work practices while performing duties
• Communicate with multi-disciplinary staff members to improve work performance and enable tasks to get completed efficiently to the end user's satisfaction
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the building and display positive attitude
• Displays excellent analytical skill along with problem solving and decision-making techniques
• Willingness to participate in learning opportunities of the Eden Alternative and organization, safety committees, training and other educational opportunities that may be available
• Recognizes self as being a good "fit" in this work environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
• Desire to learn computer programs such as Word, Excel, Maintenance Care to become computer literate as required
• Proven ability to keep accurate, detailed records of maintenance tasks performed
• Must be able to perform duties that involve lifting, bending and stretching and meet the overall physical and cognitive demands of the job
• Outstanding work history inclusive of good attendance, demonstrated availability to work, available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
