JOB PURPOSE
The Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for directing, organizing and supervising the point of care program for the zone laboratory service.
QUALIFICATION
- A Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science degree or a graduate of a school of Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Must be registered with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and licensed and in good standing (a practicing member) with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists.
- Must have three years of related experience.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for:
- Developing, implementing and managing point of care programs for all divisions in the laboratory service
- Acting as a resource for point of care testing
- Developing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures
- Developing and delivering orientation and training programs
- Ensuring the availability and appropriate use of supplies, materials and equipment
- Assisting in method/equipment evaluation and development
