The Team
The Commercial Banking Engineering team is responsible for the ideation support, design, engineering, and implementation of software of the Global Commercial Banking Engineering ecosystem at Scotiabank. This is an opportunity to work in the fast-moving and exciting world of Commercial Banking. We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team focused on the development of Commercial Banking Software. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects that meet the requirements of bankers and financial institutions
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Collaborate with stakeholders, including Bankers, Product Owners, Engineers, and Testers, to gather and analyze business requirements for Commercial Banking Software focused on the Client Onboarding domain.

Conduct thorough business process analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows, and enhance system functionality.

Translate business requirements into clear and concise functional and technical specifications, user stories, and system design documents.

Work closely with development teams to ensure that business requirements are accurately interpreted and implemented during the software development lifecycle.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between business stakeholders and technical teams to resolve issues, address concerns, and ensure project alignment with business objectives.

Provide ongoing support and assistance to business users during software implementation, training, and post-implementation phases.

Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project timelines or deliverables, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback, sharing knowledge, and proposing enhancements to existing processes, tools, and methodologies.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.

Strong understanding of Commercial Banking processes, products, and systems, with knowledge of core banking platforms and financial instruments.

Demonstrated proficiency in gathering and documenting business requirements, creating functional specifications, and performing business process analysis.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing requirements.

Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is preferred.

Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus.

Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus
