Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Project Engineer (one Infrastructure Planning, one Capital Project Delivery and one Treatment Facilities/Process Engineering positions). These are regular opportunities in the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure Department and have full time hours.
As a Project Engineer:
- You are a key member in the initiation and/or management of water, wastewater, and stormwater capital projects or water and wastewater treatment infrastructure at Halifax Water.
- You provide leadership in Halifax Water by delivering services that protect public health and the environment through the delivery of capital projects.
- You are responsible for the provision of professional engineering and project management services for a wide range of capital projects related to water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
Working in Infrastructure Planning, you will:
- Focus on the planning of projects in support of Halifax Water's long-term plan as established by the Integrated Resource Plan
Working in Capital Project Delivery, you will:
- Focus on the delivery of projects established in the Infrastructure Master Plans and / or projects generated from asset renewal practices and programs from the Integrated Resource Plan.
Working in Treatment Facilities/Process Engineering, you will:
- Focus on the delivery of projects in support of Halifax Water's long-term plans specific to working in Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities.
To do this job, you need:
- A post-secondary education in Engineering (civil, municipal, process or environmental).
- A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Five years of progressively responsible related experience in an engineering field (water, wastewater or stormwater).
- Ideally have project management experience.
- A valid NS driver's license.
