JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Training and Educational Partnerships, the Regional Training and Educational Placement Advisor is responsible for placing students/interns within Vitalité Health Network. This person collaborates with postsecondary educational institutions, schools, internship supervisors and support staff in the various Vitalité Health Network internship environments, for all training programs other than medical training.

Is responsible for the logistics around placing interns within the Network. Takes part in the various administrative operations involved in managing internships. Organizes schedules in collaboration with the people involved, does the necessary research, contacts resource persons and fills out the required administrative forms. Handles the overall management of activities around the Network's student internships in active collaboration with the educational institutions involved. Also ensures that internship requirements are met before students are placed.

The advisor collaborates in the development of initiatives related to the reception of interns. This includes building and maintaining partnerships with schools and educational institutions, keeping indicators related to intern placement up to date, working to determine the intake capacity of each sector, participating in the implementation of a training portal, working to optimize the intern intake process (internship requirements), working in collaboration to develop policies and procedures, collaborating in the development of the training-related website, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in health care or equivalent combination of training (bachelor's degree in a relevant field and work experience);
  • Management training considered an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a health care field;
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and to set priorities;
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Initiative, good judgment and discernment;
  • Recognized ability to manage conflict;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office software and readiness to learn computer productivity tools;
  • Proficiency in both oral and written French and English;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Knowledge of the university and hospital settings considered an asset;
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
