As a Net Zero Atlantic Community Solar Grant Manager you are collaborative and engaged in managing and facilitating programs to support Atlantic Canada's transition to a low-carbon future. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects in the clean technology and renewable energy portfolio, specifically in solar energy. If you have a background in engineering, renewable energy, or environmental science and enjoy building relationships and coordinating projects, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

In this full-time, permanent position, you will report to a Director of Finance and Administration and be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the implementation and project management of the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables (NSDNRR) Community Solar Funding Program.
  • Developing a comprehensive handbook for the funding program, including guidelines, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinating with approved project owners and other project partners to ensure funded projects are completed on time and within approved funding parameters.
  • Supporting development of the Community Solar Funding Program and administrative processes to manage and track projects.
  • Reporting on progress and financials to directors, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement communications targeted to approved funding recipients to assist with onboarding, reimbursement requests and other program requirements.
  • Growing strong working relationships with NSDNRR, collaborative arrangements amongst project partners, collaborators, participants, and stakeholders.
  • Possess a valid driver's licence and able to travel periodically for work.
  • Supporting activities that further Net Zero Atlantic's mandate.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in business, environmental engineering or renewable/clean energy technology, environmental policy, or any other related discipline. Or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating, developing, administering, and implementing large scale funding programs, preferably in the renewables sector.
  • Three years + of experience in project management, preferably in the renewable energy and/or construction industry.
  • Experience with solar energy systems and project development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning, executing, reporting, and finances.
  • Excellent organization, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent worker, well organized, self starter.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of community solar garden programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Atlantic Canadian energy and climate change policy goals, objectives, and programs.
  • Experience with budget tracking.
  • Experience in collaborating with First Nations or equity deserving groups.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000, depending on demonstrated experience and qualifications.
