Senior Systems Analyst
Western Memorial Regional Hospital

Definition of Work: Research, plan, design, develop, modify, evaluate and integrate network, security and telecommunications infrastructure, configuration, hardware and related communications equipment, as it pertains to local and wide area networks, cable management, fiber-optics, Wi-Fi, Internet and other enterprise data communications systems. Analysis and consultation on production and test systems requirements, development and implementation of information systems development plans, policies and procedures, and provide advice and guidance on a wide range of advanced enterprise information technology system issues.
Position Duties:
" Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and administer local and wide area networks, data center networks, Internet communications, and Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony networks and peripheral infrastructure.
" Evaluate, configure and install network hardware, including switches, routers and security systems such as firewalls, email gateways and remote access solutions.
" Operate network management software to monitor enterprise network.
" Provide problem-solving services to network users.
" Implement network traffic and security monitoring and optimize system performance.
" Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations related to all network communications infrastructure.
" Conduct tests and perform security, performance and quality controls.
" Control and monitor user access, network utilization and Internet restrictions.
" Perform shell scripting or other scripting tasks related to network configuration.
" Operate independently and provide team lead duties for network operations.
" Analyze user requirements, and design/develop system architecture and specifications.
" Develop and conduct design verification and bench tests for network communications.
" Supervise, inspect and provide design support during the installation and implementation of data and telecommunications networks.
" Establish and maintain relationships with network suppliers and vendors.
" Assess, document and optimize the capacity and performance of information and communication system networks.
" Prepare clear and accurate documentation for procedures and process flows.
Required Qualifications:

Skills/Abilities
" Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
" Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
" Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills complimented by the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
" Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality and access issues.
" Ability to deal with sensitive information using excellent judgment, diplomacy and discretion.

Experience and Education
" Graduation from a recognized university with a Computer Science Degree, or a Bachelor Degree supplemented by a recognized graduate diploma in Information Technology (minimum 1 year), or a 3-year Information Technology diploma from a recognized technical college (all with a concentration in Networking Communications.
" Minimum of 10 years' progressively responsible experience in enterprise networking and system design, including knowledge and use of routing protocols such as OSPF, LAN protocols such as RSTP, TCP/IP, firewall and VLAN configuration, network redundancy methodologies, and Wi-Fi RF design, planning, installation and administration.
" Experience providing technical advice to project teams and management.
" Experience providing team leadership.
" IT certifications in Cisco, Cloud Networking and ITIL are considered an asset.

Hours of Work: 75 Hours per pay period
0800-1600 or 0830-1630 Hours
Salary Scale: $41.15 to $48.48 per Hour
