Reporting to the Regional Head, the Regional Manager is primarily responsible for the supervision and performance management of advisors to ensure the adoption, sustainment and effective use of contact and sales planning tools.

The Regional Manager will lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Partner with the Regional Head to create, develop and maintain high-performing sales teams. You will lead regional employees in the implementation and adoption of new products and sales initiatives, ensuring an optimal employee and client experience as well as leading reward and recognition activities within the region

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Play a key role in identifying appropriate team-based solutions and work in conjunction with the Region Head and sales teams to identify tactics to address productivity deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance to MD standards, policies and procedures, as well as identifying and implementing applicable action plans to address deficiencies will be a primary focus as will managing escalated client complaints in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education/Experience

  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years' experience in the financial services industry in a leadership coupled with a university degree.
  • Pl.Fin designation
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
  • Conduct and Practices Handbook for Securities Industry Professionals (CPH)
  • Life Licensed Qualification Program (LLQP) Insurance of persons and Group insurance of persons (Including the 6 and 12 weeks probationary period)
  • Branch Manager License
  • In addition to having a breadth and depth of financial services product knowledge, you are also experienced with MS Office applications.
