The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Specialist, Inventory to join our Inventory Control Management team in Toronto.

This is a permanent hybrid position.

As a Specialist, Inventory you will ensure the deployment and implementation of Strategic Initiatives related to Inbound Logistics, as well as monitoring the progress and performance of the initiatives. Also conduct the maturity diagnosis of processes and controls in the areas of Warehouse, CMD, Inventory Planning, and Logistics for all Vale North Atlantic. Your experience and skill will allow you to establish a methodology for the continuous improvement of standards and processes in the areas of supply logistics, developing tools for performance management and continuous improvement, ensuring the implementation of best practices across the global Inbound logistics operation.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Execute the PMO / implementation of strategic initiatives and cross projects to identify and capture opportunities and anticipate risks, aiming for process optimization and efficiency in the logistics chain
  • Measure and monitor project results, ensuring appropriate communication to all stakeholders regarding their status
  • Ensure the deployment and implementation of Strategic Initiatives related to Inbound Logistics, as well as monitoring the progress and performance of initiatives.
  • Identify and apply opportunities to implement best practices in Inbound Logistics processes to globally optimize Supply Logistics activities
  • Develop root cause and corrective action plans to address issues.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory levels, reconcile discrepancies, inventory movements and identify trends or patterns.

About You

Education:

  • University Degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related discipline.
  • CITT/ CSCMP certification is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in inventory control or related role.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficient in using inventory control systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
