Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Vice President, Finance and Administration, the Senior Director, Financial Services will:
- Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of the Financial Services functions including accounting, treasury, procurement, reporting and audit, enterprise risk management, and financial planning.
- Ensure that policies and practices are in place to effectively and appropriately manage and account for the University's operating budget, capital budget, and financial resources.
- Lead the University's budget process, provides advice to Executive Management Group (EMG), the Board of Governors and University committees.
- As the senior financial expert, plays a key role in the evolution of the University's financial strategy and acts as a resource to the University.
- Lead, coach and develop a talented team, champions the continuous commitment to providing excellent service and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Establishes and implements short and long term goals and priorities for identification of critical issues and risks, develops strategies to address them.
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Senior Director, Financial Services you will have:
- Undergraduate degree. Professional accounting designation.
- Minimum ten years' experience. Understanding of current accounting policies and practices.
- Supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
- Above average interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
