As part of the Wastewater Treatment team at the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station (PLNGS), you'll contribute to the reliable operation of the wastewater treatment facility through accurate data collection, meticulous record keeping, and trend analysis towards ensuring safety, operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key functions include:
• Monitoring the operation of the PLNGS wastewater treatment facility by performing daily sampling, collection of wastewater treatment plant data as per established protocols, and reporting any process or equipment deficiencies.
• Maintaining records and trending data through inputting data in the facility Daily Log to document facility operation, abnormalities and deficiencies
• Provision of contractor oversight during de-sludge and outsourced wastewater facility processes

Our ideal teammate will have:
• Post secondary Technical Diploma
• Wastewater Operator Class 1 certification valid in New Brunswick
• Ability to obtain Wastewater Class 2 certification
• One year experience working in a Class 2 or higher wastewater treatment facility
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment used in a in wastewater treatment plant
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to plan, organize and make effective work-related decisions.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively to engage with contractors and clients


An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

Due to security requirements at Canadian Nuclear facilities, the successful candidate will require a Site Access Security Clearance which includes verification of background information, references, a Criminal Record Name Check and a Canadian Security Intelligence Service security recommendation.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
