Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre on Substance Use (NLCSU) the Knowledge Exchange Facilitator is responsible for the effective and efficient development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of knowledge exchange activities that support workforce development, strategic planning, and policy-making targeted toward strengthening the provincial harm reduction and addictions treatment system.

The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of activities in support of knowledge exchange, information dissemination, and education for communities, health system support workers/service providers, program and policy decision-makers, and researchers. This position is responsible for translating research, literature reviews, and other sources of knowledge into a diverse range of audience-friendly knowledge exchange products, with a particular emphasis on promoting the applied use of research and scientific evidence. The position will also develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and networks of key audiences.

This position operates within a changing environment where health is monitored and influenced by current research practice in health promotion, population health, health and social policy, and health and social service delivery systems. This position will work in an effort to ensure quality standards in accordance with NL Health Services policies and procedures and other relevant professional bodies.

Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline is required.
Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, or Health Sciences is preferred.

Experience
Minimum of two (2) years' experience within the last four (4) working in a healthcare environment in a role involving research, adult education and/or program development/evaluation is required.
Experience in mental health and addictions is preferred.
Experience in a leadership role is preferred.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge and skills in developing and implementing knowledge exchange frameworks, plans, activities, and products.
Knowledge of the addiction field, including harm reduction-related programming and policy, as well as
Strong knowledge of health promotion strategies and theories, population health approaches, harm reduction, and the social determinants of health.
Knowledge of research methodology and statistical techniques for data analysis and interpretation.
Knowledge of adult education theory and practice.
Knowledge of change management principles.
Knowledge and proficiency in the MS Office Suite of computer software.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated high degree of interpersonal effectiveness, good judgment, creativity, adaptability, and commitment to teamwork.
Demonstrated project management, organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to stay current on relevant clinical, evidence-based practice to enhance and support program planning, development, and evaluation within the service area.
Ability to manage continuous improvement and quality process.
Ability to foster and promote a safe and healthy workplace.
Ability to build networks and manage relationships with internal and external partners.

Other
Current registration/licensure in the relevant professional association where applicable.
Travel within the province and region is required and use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
