The team:
Scotiabank's Global Network Operations (GNO) team is responsible for operating the Scotiabank's network globally on a 24x7x365 basis. The GNO team monitors the global network, troubleshoots, and implements required network changes. We provide Levels 1 & 2 support and work closely with the Level 3 teams in Global Network Engineering (GNE) to troubleshoot and fix complex network issues.
The role:
This is a temporary full-time assignment that's expected to run until Mar. 2026.
You will play a critical part in monitoring, triaging, actioning, and troubleshooting network alerts/events globally, as well as scheduling and executing network changes to prevent or resolve network related incidents. You will monitor and respond requests addressed to the team mailbox and pick up calls received on the team hotline. When network incidents occur, you will also open tickets with carriers & network vendors and, as well, work with internal help desk or infrastructure groups to resolve related network issues. You will also attend bridge & troubleshooting calls and implement network changes, as per provided MOP (method of procedure), plus provide reporting updates & communications.
To ensure coverage for 24x7 network operations, members of this team take pre-scheduled rotational 12-hour shifts as a part of a compressed work-week, which ranges from 2 to 4 days. These rotational shifts will cover days, evening, overnights, weekends & banking + statutory holidays.

- You possess strong communication (verbal/written) and good interpersonal skills to build relationships with both internal/external business partners and vendors.
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in providing Levels 1 and/or 2 network infrastructure support.
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in managing network incidents relating to Cisco routers, switches, Wi-Fi infrastructure & firewalls.
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in managing network incidents relating to TCP/IP networking.
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in managing network incidents relating to WAN and Aruba SD-WAN technologies.
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in troubleshooting network incidents that involve F5 load balancers.
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in troubleshooting network incidents that involve Fortinet firewalls.
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the following:
- BGP/OSPF protocols
- LAN technologies
- Network Monitoring tools
- You possess superior problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve work issues in a dynamic environment.
- You can manage multiple tasks concurrently & the ability to work well under pressure is a part of who you are.
- You possess a strong customer orientation & a keen ability to learn rapidly.
- Python scripting knowledge or experience is an asset.
- You have a post-secondary education in a technology related field. You stand out from the crowd by fully completing your CCNP.
