Health Care Benefits Assistant

We promote safe and healthy workplaces, as well as provide return to work programs and benefits to workers and their dependents.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provides information to injured workers, vendors, employers and internal staff on health care services and related issues.
  • Arranges travel and accommodations for injured workers and companion/attendant where appropriate.
  • Issues purchase orders, processes payments and identifies and advises CSA or Finance Department of overpayments, accurately and efficiently for health care services or products approved by the Health Care Benefit Assistant or claim owner.

Your Background and Experience:

  • Minimum two-year diploma in Business Administration supplemented by one year of related experience.
  • Must have demonstrated an ability to show initiative and possess independent judgment, well-developed interpersonal, written communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Workplace, Health, Safety & Compensation legislation, policies and procedures that relate to the position would be an asset.
  • A broad understanding and knowledge of medical terminology and an understanding of the health care delivery system in the province and the MCP fee schedule would be an asset.

Experience and an educational equivalency will be considered.
