Site Description: Halifax Stanfield is Atlantic Canada's principal full-service airport providing passengers and cargo clients with direct access to markets across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, Europe, and Asia. Halifax Stanfield offers Canada Customs services on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis, and it's the only airport in Atlantic Canada with U.S. preclearance and International to Domestic processing facilities. The Airport is a major economic generator, contributing $3.8 billion annually to the provincial economy pre-pandemic. In 2020, Halifax Stanfield served 995,000 passengers and processed nearly 33,000 metric tonnes of cargo.
Job Description:
The Assistant Security Operations Supervisor (ASOS) is responsible for the operational supervision of the security staff, the regulatory and non-regulatory administrative duties relating to the airport security program, and the performance accountability of all subordinate security positions. As an operational supervisor, the ASOS will alternate shifts with the Security Operations Supervisor (SOS) position, and equally share the responsibilities and duties assigned to the SOS and ASOS positions. The ASOS is the designate to the ATC. This position is specific to ensuring the airport security program is delivered by the proponent to HIAA's and Transport Canada's needs.
The Assistant Security Operations Supervisor is an experienced supervisor and has additional experience in administrative management.
Job Requirements:

  • have proven supervision and administrative management experience/training.
  • have experience delivering training.
  • be computer proficient.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED, Certificate Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or related) field, First Aid/CPR
