Job Description:

Manage / lead a team of business information management / specialized professionals that is responsible for supporting business information management needs for a specific area/function.

Responsible for providing team leadership and building out Business Information Management organizational capabilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Build, oversee and manage diverse teams of data professional and/or business information management professionals
  • Set team goals / objectives in alignment with overall Business strategies
  • Establish an effective and well documented process while investigate new opportunities to create and develop more effective methodologies and processes for collecting, analyzing and presenting data
  • Oversee the delivery of data products in report / presentation format to specifications and timeline in alignment with overall business data governance/information management strategies
  • Work closely with senior management in both Finance Data Management and FinOps to provide process update and performance metrics reporting.
  • Support the business segment leadership team in utilization of the information excellence program capabilities
  • Own and manage the updates and maintains of the Master Data Sheet (MDS) and Source Information Sheet Book of Records.
  • Manage the change management updates required to the Source Information Sheets.
  • Assess existing analytics tools and enhance existing analytical capabilities and quality of data to enable greater automation

SHAREHOLDER

  • Lead and manage the team responsible for the Business Information Management deliverables including contribution to the overall project business requirements and data requirements
  • Participate in audit reviews of internal controls, work with Audit and support Finops team in any data related audit questions specific to the reconciliation data sources and information the team collects and manages.
  • Support Finops in requests to change the frequency of data feeds (Monthly to Daiy)
  • Participate and support the development of System-level Source Information Sheets as part of ARC Integration Project.
  • Accountable for ensuring team adherence to prescribed data management, governance standards and processes, ensuring timely notification of issues/problems, review escalated risks and issues, work with stakeholders to develop contingency plans, resolve risks, and escalate further where necessary; accountable to coach, as expert leaders in their own domain, across all projects and other change initiatives to support data impact assessments and data risk mitigation
  • Develop and manage the departmental plan and budget to ensure effective use of business segment funds and compliance with budget targets and outsource vendor contract terms and conditions
  • Manage intake and demand, coordinating data resources as required and identify and source appropriate resources across all work streams, ensure all resources are used effectively
  • Ensure compliance with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines
  • Assess / identify key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders and business management where required
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
  • Manage oversight process, risk-based identification and monitoring of related risks and regulatory compliance across the supported functions, while ensuring key controls and processes are effectively managed
  • Oversee or lead the facilitation and/or implementation of action / remediation plans to address performance / risk / governance issues, including efforts to uncover root causes for data issues and ensuring issues are resolved according to business needs
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams
  • Support an environment where team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Lead and manage a sizeable team of professionals and overall operation of a diverse group in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope, while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business results
  • Expert knowledge of the business' technical environment/ tools (e.g., user environment, applications, software, hardware, programming languages and operating systems) in own area
  • Primary subject matter expert in multiple areas and consults with clients/or project teams with respect to all aspects of research, data analysis, design, hardware / software support, development of technical solutions and/or testing
  • Provides support and contributes to the overall discipline and strategy for respective areas
  • Focus on medium term issues (e.g. 6-12 months)
  • Generally reports to a Senior Manager or executive role

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate and/or
  • Graduate degree, preferred and/or
  • 7+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background
  • Strong communication / executive presentation skill.
  • Operational Process development / improvement experience
  • Experience with audit/QA and/or process control preferred
  • Managerial experience preferred
