Job Description

  • The cafeteria worker is responsible to:
    • Plan menus and prepare food, adhering to the School Food and Nutrition Policy
    • Serve or distribute the cafeteria orders, depending on the food service model
    • Complete daily logs as required (e.g., temperature, cleaning, amount of food prepared, consumed and composted).
    • Place food orders through identified food service distributor. If needed, place orders for non-food related items such as napkins.
    • Submit menu to school administrator(s) to be shared with families in advance of the start of menu cycles
    • Positively interact with students at the go through the lunch line without commenting on the types or amounts of foods they choose.
  • Basic Food Safety Training is required, and can be provided as part of job training.
  • The hours of work are based on individual school needs.
  • Pay & Benefits

    $15.20 per hour - minimum 4 hours per day

    • Vacation pay is included in the weekly salary
    • On no bus days/no students present, the cafeteria is closed (without pay)
