JOB PURPOSE
The Refrigeration and Ventilation Mechanic is responsible for performing refrigeration and air conditioning work at the journeyman level.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic. Must have two years experience. Must have valid drivers license.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Refrigeration and Ventilation Mechanic is responsible for:
- Installing, monitoring, troubleshooting and servicing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Testing and calibrating equipment for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Reclaiming refrigerants and oils
- Repairing appliances such as refrigerators, freezers and coolers
- Performing minor repairs for building systems and equipment
- Keeping and maintaining records and documentation
- Organizing and coordinating the work of contractors or other tradespeople
