JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Restigouche Hospital Centre Director, the successful candidate seeing to structural stigma and mental health will have as their primary responsibilities the implementation of plans and strategies addressing the sector's priorities (and on a priority basis at the RHC), including the following: 1-Delivery of recovery-based services ; 2?Implementation of the Safewards model on care units within the sector; 3-Implementation of less restrictive approaches; 4-Structural destigmatization; 5- Trauma informed care.

Will evaluate and monitor the implementation of initiatives, provide advice and teaching, conduct literature and best practice searches, and support stakeholders in the sector with the four above priorities.

Will be responsible for facilitating organizational transformation by actively collaborating with all stakeholders, both internal and external, and by working closely with directors, managers, resource employees, physicians, front-line staff and Leadership Team members.

Will work to expand the knowledge and competencies of staff and other stakeholders in relation to the four main priorities. Will provide extensive mentorship and demonstrate leadership skills while developing a personalized approach based on the unique needs of individuals and groups.

Will develop and plan strategic approaches designed to involve stakeholders and facilitate their engagement. Will, based on engaging facilitation approaches, plan and lead consultation sessions with the objective of applying all relevant assessment tools to the identified priorities.

Will play a key role in the transformation of the organizational culture towards a culture of person-centred care, positive and safe interactions with patients, non-coercive care, and equitable and non-stigmatizing access to health care.

Related tasks associated with the smooth running of the department may be added, and the main objectives to be achieved may also vary with the development of departmental priorities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Postsecondary degree in a health-related field;
  • Master's degree in health service administration or management considered an asset;
  • Member in good standing of a professional association;
  • Combination of training and experience deemed equivalent;
  • Minimum of ten years' experience in mental health and addiction services in one or more positions involving increasing responsibilities in consultation, project management, and major initiative implementation;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and coaching skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of institutional issues related to mental health and addition services;
  • Knowledge of structural stigma;
  • Knowledge of the Safewards model;
  • Knowledge of strategic and organizational planning;
  • Sound judgment accompanied by listening, analysis, synthesis, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills;
  • Transformational leadership;
  • Ability to mobilize and engage and to act as a change agent;
  • Drive and creative reasoning in the performance of duties;
  • Ability to advance several major projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to travel within Vitalité Health Network and the province;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
