Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationship and leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Advise small business customers on the ideal trade finance solution based on a discovery conversation with the client and the branch. Assist with the after sales support, maintenance and problem resolution of trade finance services.
  • Responsible to ensure the successful implementation of trade finance services for the customer, in partnership with the branch SBA/Branch Manager, the CAU and centralized trade finance team.
  • Provide regular updates on any changes in the trade finance process and assist with the preparing/delivering trade finance presentation to our partners.
  • Provide assistance to the Manger Customer Experience with high profile/high complexity customer inquiries/escalations.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetites and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Prepare trade finance agreements and ensure documentation is completed correctly prior to settling up the Letter of Credit/Letter of Guarantee.
  • Ensure all appropriate fees are collected and that cash security is in place prior to funding the trade finance instrument.
  • Ensure that the terms and conditions of the credit approvals are followed, in respect to the Trade Finance documentations.
  • Assist the Manager Customer Experience in supporting high priority requests/escalations. In all cases, perform a gap analysis of the customer's needs prior to the initial conversation with the client, to ensure a holistic conversation is taking place.
  • Once the customer conversation has taken place advise the branch of the credit requirements to ensure that the ACE application is submitted correctly.
