FCNB is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation. FCNB's mandate is to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace through the provision of regulatory and educational services. With offices in both Fredericton and Saint John, it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation regulating mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, co-operatives, and a wide range of consumer legislation. The Commission is a self funded Crown corporation responsible for the administration and enforcement of financial consumer services legislation.

Regulatory Outreach and Communications Officer

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Communications and Public Affairs team to provide full-time communications services and outreach support to our regulatory audiences. This role will have an emphasis on developing communications and stakeholder engagement content to engage, inform, and build relationships with the industries and professionals we regulate.

You should have a strong interest in building connections and creating clear and engaging communications for a professional and regulatory audience. To support the stakeholder engagement work of the Commission, you have a proven ability to plan, execute and manage communications and outreach projects from start to finish, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a small and diverse team.

What you'll be doing:

Communications - working with internal staff to identify needs, develop communications that may include website and digital content, educational content, report writing, marketing activities and other awareness material and support the delivery of virtual or in-person industry outreach.

Stakeholder Outreach and Engagement - working with the regulatory divisions within the Commission, you will provide advice and guidance to support the planning and implementation of outreach, engagement and consultation efforts with our regulatory audiences.

Corporate Reporting - working with the Corporate Communications Manager, you will support the development and delivery of corporate reports including annual reports.

Your Qualifications include:

  • College or University degree in business, communications, or a related field,
  • 3+ years or related experience in business, financial or regulatory environment communications,
  • Collaborative work spirit and desire to work in team-based, information-sharing environment,
  • Outstanding written communications and editing skills both traditional and digital, with proven ability to create clear, engaging, and informative content,
  • Proven ability to position issues effectively in written materials,
  • Adaptable writing style and ability to communicate effectively and creatively across different medium, topics, and audiences,
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English and French
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management.
