About Us:

The Nova Scotia Education Common Services Bureau (NSECSB) is a government reporting entity under the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. The NSECSB provides centralized management and administration of a variety of programs and services to support the efficient administration and operations of Nova Scotia's public education system. Examples include responsibility to administer a pension and a benefit plan to non-teaching employees of participating Regional Centres for Education and the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (RCEs/CSAP), management of the School Sport Nova Scotia, centralized coordination of the Non-Union Compensation Framework for Non-Union Employees, management of a provincial approach to recruitment and retention of teachers, and centralized coordination and project management to a variety of province-wide initiatives across the public education system that result in efficiency and greater alignment and consistency within the public education system.

About the Opportunity

We are inviting applications for the position of Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator provides project management and supports implementation of a variety of programs, services and initiatives assigned to the NSECSB which increase efficiency and alignment within the public education system.

Responsibilities include developing project plans, research, developing options and recommendations, budget monitoring, contract management, communications, engagement with stakeholders, reporting and supporting implementation, including change management plans for assigned programs and projects.

The Project Coordinator establishes relationships with internal and external clients, contract service providers and provincial working groups and committees through project support and regular monitoring and progress updates.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the NSECSB.

About You

As the ideal candidate for this role, you hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and a minimum of five years leading and supporting projects and program development and management as well as experience in a leadership role with various stakeholders.

An equivalent combination or related training and experience may be considered.

Excellent interpersonal, written communication, budgeting, public speaking, and presentation skills, along with the ability to demonstrate good judgement, strategic thinking, and effective decision-making skills are necessary. Exceptional problem-solving, and organizational skills and the ability to adapt to change is essential. Strong negotiation skills are required to resolve regional issues and to develop new partnerships and programs. Proficiency with general office software is required, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the internet.
