Contribute to Global Operations Technology in the Adjudication team by driving the execution and delivery of individual goals, plans, and initiatives that align with our business strategies and objectives. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for facilitating agile practices, managing pre and post-release documentation, ensuring all documentation is accurately prepared for timely approvals, ensuring effective collaboration, identifying, and removing impediments, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies by organizing and leading daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensuring that these meetings are productive and that team members are fully engaged.

  • Manage release documentation, ensuring standards are met and facilitating timely stakeholder approvals within the documentation lifecycle.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of release documentation, from initial drafting to final approval.

  • Identify and remove any impediments that hinder the team´s progress. Shield the team from external interruptions and distractions.

  • Maintain and update the team´s progress using agile tools like JIRA, Confluence and Kanban to ensure that project status is transparent to stakeholders and that team members are aware of their responsibilities.

  • Guide the team on how to use Agile practices. Support and mentor team members, helping them understand and apply Agile principles.

  • Encourage open communication and collaboration within the team to facilitate conflict resolution and build a strong sense of team cohesion.

  • A business values focused mindset to ensure that the Technology team is delivering the right product for Stakeholders, ensuring user stories are clearly defined and the team understands the scope and expectation of work.

  • Manage business and software development metrics framework for software products. Look over large amounts of data to put together reports and presentations for leadership teams.

  • Encourage the team to reflect on their processes and identify areas for improvement. Implement changes that enhance team performance and product quality.

  • Assist and support software development and the Support team in achieving their objectives by applying innovative and problem-solving thinking to increase design effectiveness, procedures, and cost-effective solutions while meeting business and regulatory requirements.

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporated into in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of the day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in complex IT projects.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with Adjudication labs.

  • Proficiency in English at a B2 level.

  • Demonstrated project management experience with a deep understanding of agile principles and practices.

  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

  • General understanding of project management principles.

  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

  • An agile mindset with the flexibility to adapt to new and evolving environments.

  • Excellent written, verbal, virtual, and live communication skills.

  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira.

  • A solid customer focus, with the ability to discern underlying client needs and identify opportunities to enhance service levels and increase solution scalability.

  • A strong team orientation, with a genuine interest in collaborative work, mentoring peers, and openness to constructive feedback

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSM or equivalent Agile certification.

  • PMP certification.

  • ITIL Foundations certification.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Good SQL skills.

  • Experience with Power BI.

  • Proficiency in Python
