What you will be doing…

The Manager, Signature Events and Service provides leadership in design, implementation and delivery of an exceptional signature event experience for students across the college and throughout all stages of the student lifecycle. Through a strong desire to contribute to the success of our students and our College, they will also play a significant role in shaping a highly effective service culture; one that lays a foundation for student success.

This role, reporting to the Director, Student Awards and Experience, will lead teams in the realization of both departmental and College level goals related to signature events (including new student welcome events, orientation, open house, and convocation among others), quality service standards and consistent approaches, and the development of systems and processes that embrace/drive change to the benefit of the student experience.

They will collaborate closely with peer managers in Student Affairs, Registrar and Enrolment, campus Student Services and other departments to foster a shared vision for signature events and service excellence at NSCC and help define overall goals, develop consistent practices and meet targeted outcomes with respect to each. They will also work in partnership with teams across the College (both centrally and on campus) to integrate approaches and develop a 'best practice' service philosophy that supports both student and College success.

This will require a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, knowledge of the post-secondary environment, and the ability to cultivate a shared understanding of the service culture of NSCC while identifying trends and opportunities that inform strategies and service training to meet our goals.
