Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Bank's strategy and employee engagement by leading the design and implementation of the Bank's Culture Framework. The Director will create and deliver on the strategy and roadmap to bring Culture to life and drive the right workplace behaviours and environment through strong connectivity to our tools, programs and policies, including core workstreams like performance, employee listening strategies and future of work.


Key Accountabilities

• Leads the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide culture strategy and framework, to enable a strong Bank culture and employee sense of belonging.

• Delivers on the roadmap for the implementation of ScotiaBond (the Bank's refreshed Values & Behaviours) by leveraging HR activities, programs and initiatives to ensure a clear focus on recognizing and rewarding the right values and behaviours through core HR workstreams like performance, ScotiaPulse and employee listening strategies along with a vision for workplace of the future.

• Create a centre of excellence and act as the source of knowledge for culture change ideas and best practices. Develop subject expertise on driving impactful corporate culture, including competitor strategies and industry best practices.

• Leverage internal tools, surveys and stakeholders, along with industry insights and best practices to monitor alignment of the Bank's culture with employee/market sentiment and against organizational values and priorities to really drive employee value and client centricity.

• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

• Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Experience / Education:

• 5-8 years business experience. Experience may have been gained in a bank, within any large industry leading firm with a diverse employee base and organizational complexity
• Knowledge of change management (and what it takes to move/inspire a broad workforce)
• Excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and ability to build strategic relationships
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and results
