What you will do

Reporting to the Manager of Guest Experience and Business Development, you will be responsible to collect, organize, analyze and provide insight to senior management regarding visitation in Provincial Parks. You will collect and clean data in order to interpret and develop reports that will provide strategic insight for decision makers. You will provide training and support to park staff virtually and in person as required. Your duties will include, among other things:

  • Developing weekly visitation reports and data visualization
  • Providing ongoing training and support to park employees that will assist with data collection
  • Developing strategies for each property for accurate data collection and validation
  • Installing people counters and other hardware on site in Provincial Parks
  • Collaborating with other THC branches and GNB departments as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Work environment

  • Primary office location: Marysville Place
  • Office layout: open offices
  • Secondary office locations: Fundy Trail, Herring Cove, Hopewell Rock, Mactaquac, Mount Carleton, Murray Beach, New River Beach, Parlee Beach, Republique and Sugarloaf
  • Your Team: small head office team and park staff in the field at the above parks
  • Committed to offering a work-life balance
  • Travel throughout the province and work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required

Who you are
You are someone who gets things done. You have experience examining data that help inform key decisions and can present this data clearly with the help of data visualisations and PowerPoint presentations. You have excellent problem-solving skills and are always ready to help. You possess strong interpersonal, communication skills, are self-motivated and able to think on your feet. You have a respect for safety. Collaboration and inclusivity drive your actions.

Need to have

  • A University degree and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience or a two-year college diploma with a minimum of six (6) years related experience
  • Thorough knowledge and experience working with various computer software programs (Excel including PowerBI, Tableau, Word, PowerPoint, Structured Query Language (SQL))
  • Experience with machine learning and other data automation tools
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence English is required

Nice to have

  • Experience working in or with the public sector
  • Experience in measuring visitation or usage in parks
  • Experience using people and or traffic counters.
  • Experience in fostering relationships with non-governmental agencies
  • Experience in preparing external communication and briefing notes

Wage

From $2,140.00 to $2,993.00 bi-weekly (Pay Band 4)
