The opportunity:

We're looking for an outstanding front-end developer who can quickly understand relevant portions of our back-end systems to implement beautiful, functional, and responsive websites and applications.

As a member of our growing Front-End team, you will work with a group of UX professionals, testers, and developers dedicated to creating engaging experiences for users of our digital products. Your focus will be on improving single-page applications, websites and component libraries based on wire frames from UX design colleagues.

This is a Monday- Friday, daytime business hours role which also offers flexibility in terms of location: You can choose to work remotely from home, in one of our offices, or in a hybrid arrangement. You'll have the autonomy to decide what works best for you while staying connected with the team through regular meetings and collaborative tools.

  • You are passionate about HTML, CSS and JavaScript and you can rapidly master new web technologies and techniques.

  • You have strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

  • You're an advocate for the user and believe in a customer-centric approach to digital products.

  • You're capable of managing multiple priorities and activities and can work comfortably through uncertainty and change.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, including requirements-gathering and liaising with non-technical team members on technical subjects.

Your everyday with us will consist of:

  • Build single-page applications that integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
  • Build content-based websites using a CMS.
  • Maintain existing applications and websites.
  • Maintain existing component libraries.
  • Help to mature front-end development standards.
  • Get familiar with team standards, tools, and frameworks.
  • Improve user experience by working in collaboration with a team of UX professionals.
  • Staying current into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.

What you need to succeed:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program.
  • Working experience doing UX/UI development for software, websites or web applications which leverage emergent technologies is considered an asset.
  • Strongly motivated individual that has an interest to learn.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of semantic HTML.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and extensive experience with frameworks or libraries such as Vue or React
  • Strong knowledge of CSS, CSS preprocessor like SASS and CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 level AA accessibility guidelines.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of GIT or other versioning tools.

What we consider as an asset to have:

  • Knowledge of CMS architecture; experience with Craft CMS
  • Knowledge of templating language such as Twig .
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks such JEST, Playwright or Testing Library
  • Knowledge of GraphQL
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (Docker, AWS, Heroku, etc.)
  • Knowledge of PHP, Python and Java
  • Knowledge of Salesforce
  • Bilingualism, English & French
