Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Academic Chair, Health & Human Services, you will:

  • Provide confidential, daily administrative, and organizational support. This role supports a very busy department with 6 programs, approximately 20 full-time Faculty and Support Staff, as well as upwards of 250 students.
  • Manage the administrative and support functions, activities, and programs of the office. This entails logistical planning for meetings, program scheduling, calendar management, record keeping and file management, project management support, coordinating special events, and liaising with the internal and external communities, as well as other related administrative duties, as required.
  • Work with faculty to support the day-to-day operations of the various departments.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Administrative Professional/Office Administration. High school completion with significant years of administrative experience (10+) will also be considered.
  • You have a minimum of three years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • You have demonstrated occupational experience with the following:
    • Managing day-to-day office functions
    • Ordering office supplies
    • Reconciliation of invoices
    • Calendar management (meeting coordination and set-up)
    • Working with data information in Excel and Word
    • Utilizing databases for information manipulation
  • Knowledge of the post-secondary application process would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and Office 365. Experience using PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset
