As an Internal Auditor at Assumption Life, you will be responsible for developing and executing audit plans to support managers in fulfilling their responsibilities. Your role involves providing assurance on the organization's operational controls and validating the measures in place. You will influence audit mandates on business processes and projects, offering recommendations based on your findings and communicating results to relevant stakeholders. Given the variety of mandates and the need to collaborate with professionals from diverse fields, strong interpersonal skills are essential.
- Participate in financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits by identifying potential risks and impacts and proposing practical solutions.
- Adhere to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA) as well as the policies/procedures of the Internal Audit Department and the Company.
- Present results, findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the Head of the Internal Audit Department.
- Assist external auditors with their year-end audit mandate.
- Ensure follow-ups with the responsible parties to implement recommendations issued during the audits.
- University degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in auditing or compliance.
- Professional audit certification (CIA, CISA, or other audit and/or accounting designations) is considered an asset, or a willingness to pursue one.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Creativity and practical sense in developing solutions, as well as the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational, time management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry (considered an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
