What You Will Do:

As a Coordinator, EHSW, you will support the implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of our Environment, Health, Safety, and Wellness programs, reporting directly to the Supervisor, EHSW. Your efforts will help promote a culture of safety and wellness and drive continuous improvement within our organization. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support EHSW program development, implementation, and management to align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
  • Communicate EHSW updates to employees and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist in safety incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating EHSW training, prepare materials, and manage records.
  • Organize EHS events and wellness initiatives to promote a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Manage EHS software systems, ensure data accuracy, employee support, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Monitor safety statistics, prepare reports, and analyze data for improvement.
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to EHSW, including filing, scheduling, and correspondence.

What You Will Bring:

Required qualifications:

  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Health & Safety.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, management and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Strong understanding of Nova Scotia EHSW legislation, best practices, and industry standards.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for multitasking and prioritizing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective employee interactions.
  • Strong presentation skills for delivering EHSW training and communications to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in the field of EHSW.
