Department Overview:

Our Associate Programs offer new graduates experience within several of TD's many lines of business and corporate functions, including Sustainability, Risk, Finance, TD Securities, TD Asset Management to name a few. Associates will have the chance to work alongside experienced colleagues, work on challenging projects and assignments, and receive coaching and mentorship from business leaders and the Early Talent Experience team, to set you up for success in your career at TD.

Associate Role Profile:

- 2-year rotational journey (rotating every 6 months), complemented by programming, coaching, tools and support

In addition, as an Associate you have access to programming, tools and a community of support for your pursuits and interests beyond the 9-5. Job Description:

Integrating ESG within our business is imperative as it helps us deliver on our purpose to enrich the lives of our customers, colleagues and communities we serve, but it also makes sense for our business. We are committed to implementing our global ESG strategy by further understanding the various needs of the customers and communities across our footprint and working so that our local products and services are tailored to help serve their needs.

TD's ESG Associate Program is an accelerated development program to support TD's ESG integrated work across the bank that differentiates our brand and enhances our reputation, strengthens our employee value proposition, drives social and environmental impact and creates shared value. Successful candidates will participate in a 24 month (4 x 6 month) rotational program that incorporates both strategic and business roles tied to the bank's ESG priorities. Some of the types of activities associates may be involved in include:

  • Environmental and Social research and reporting
  • Environmental and Social strategy development and execution, especially on enterprise initiatives
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging issues or trends associated with Environmental and Social risk developments and/or regulatory requirements

This development program focuses primarily on blended learning through hands on experience, e- learning, workshops and practical application to provide you with the opportunity for growth, upward mobility, and an understanding of the bank's ESG strategy, policy and execution practices in a collaborative, performance-based culture.

Rotations will combine a mixture of strategy, delivery, and implementation experiences to provide a holistic view of ESG at the bank. You will work hand in hand with multiple levels of management and executives and be provided opportunities to actively lead and/or contribute to projects, programs, products or policy development to advance the bank's ESG initiatives.

Job Requirements
  • Must graduate before July 2025 with a graduate degree in Business, Finance or Risk or a related graduate degree program from an accredited university
  • Exposure to ESG and/or policy work required, background in financial services a benefit
  • Demonstrate ability to oversee, plan and/or execute activities and/or operational processes to ensure various activities are executed and completed in accordance with established workplans and within prescribed time and scope parameters
  • Research and analytical skills (Critical Thinking and problem solving)
  • Comfortable to operate in a space that is not well defined and emerging
  • Strong and effective communications skills with relentless growth mindset and ability to persuade, present, and influence positively
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively within a team environment
  • Passion and drive to participate in, or lead, initiatives that improve the lives of those in our community
  • The ability to excel within a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Conceptual thinker with proven analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Driven leader capable of inspiring those around you and championing TD's culture of inclusion and diversity
  • Experiences in reporting production and process control designs, an asset
  • MA in policy work or MBA with a sustainability focus, an asset
