Key Responsibilities- Cover events for TV and digital, conduct interviews, write texts
- Shoot his or her own images; set up / edit / light and produce news reports for both TV and digital
- Propose and develop original subjects to cover; able to stay removed from the news
- Maintain a network of contacts
- Configure and use live equipment as needed
- Follow editorial standards and guidelines regarding accuracy, ethics and legal issues
- Ensure equipment and mobile are in good working order
- Other assigned tasks
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, film, communications or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of experience in TV / Web
- Proven experience in news reporting and ability to perform in front of the camera
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, and knowledge of local, national and international news and current events
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Good understanding of social networks and the audience
- Proven filming and editing abilities
- Proven organizational skills, and ability to work autonomously under tight deadlines
- Good editorial judgment; demonstrated ability to produce original and enterprising news reports
- Ability to manage new and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of iNews an asset
- Valid driver's licence and good record
- Bilingualism required; In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
