ConnectCPA is experience rapid growth, and Meridia Recruitment Solutions is excited to partner with them as we look to bring a Senior Payroll Associate to their unique, fully remote team.

The Senior Payroll Associate role requires the candidate to manage multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. You will be using online payroll software and apps and working closely with clients to ensure that their payroll is delivered seamlessly.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Running payroll in a timely manner, making changes to payroll (adding/removing employees, adding/removing deductions, etc.), handling the T4 process, and submitting ROE forms, amongst other payroll duties.
  • Answering inquiries from clients related to payroll and payable matters, providing recommendations and problem-solving; analyzing data.
  • Processing end-to-end payroll for multiple clients with different pay frequencies.
  • EHT, WCB filings for multiple provinces.
  • Reviewing CRA accounts and responding to notices.
  • Correspondence with clients and the bookkeeping team to ensure timely service and a hands-off experience.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • PCP certification is a must.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment for a company or companies with multiple employees.
  • Intimate understanding of the Canadian payroll process, including but not limited to withholding taxes, source deductions, other deductions, benefits, ROE forms, T4 slips, and more.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Social, presentable, and well-spoken.
  • Independent, highly motivated, and a self-starter.
  • Multi-tasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneously.
