THE OPPORTUNITY

The Network Administrator reports directly to the Manager of Networking Services group within the Office of the Chief Information Officer. This position will be focused on the IT networking infrastructure, working with the team to monitor, maintain, and upgrade networking components where required. In addition, this position will be required to take a role in some security aspects of the ITS network environment, working with security tools to secure and monitor the environment against threats. Duties include developing and maintaining appropriate documentation for existing environments; establishing the regular monitoring of all IT environmental infrastructures and providing regular reporting against baselines; working with other departmental units as part of a team to complete critical projects; providing recommendations for improvements or changes to existing environments; working with management to acquire and install required upgrades; consulting on new network/data sites for ITS; engaging with members of the ITS Security Team on cybersecurity matters; managing problem resolution via working with both internal and external groups; and performing other related duties as required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Experience (3-5 years) in an enterprise network environment; graduation from university with a degree in a relevant field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills; the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment; a strong capacity for attention to detail; and the ability to document their work.

SALARY $62,206 - $70,273 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
